A man once on Texoma's most wanted list is back behind bars this afternoon.

24-year-old Sonny Dewayne Slay is facing charges of evading arrest.

His bond has not been set at this time.

Slay has outstanding city warrants, and police say just before 9:30 Tuesday morning, officers spotted him getting out of a vehicle on North Beverly.

When they tried to talk to him, they say he took off on foot toward Old Iowa Park Road.

Sergeant John Spragins said, "We got several officers over here real quick to help with the foot pursuit. The subject was caught. He was arrested for outstanding warrants and for evading an officer."

Police say this is not the first time Slay has run from police. In 2011, officers say they tried to stop him near Old High.

He stopped at Avenue M and Taylor and took off on foot, leaving an unidentified woman behind in the truck.

Police had been searching for Slay in connection with stealing and stripping two Honda Accords within 24 hours.
