Man Struck by Train

A Texoma man is in the hospital after his truck was hit by a train.
DPS said the accident happened Saturday night near Henrietta, while the man was trying to help another driver who's car was stuck in the wrong place.

DPS troopers said 56-year-old Stephen Benham was actually trying to help a driver who's car was stuck on the side tracks near the intersection of Highway 287 and Anderson Road.

Troopers said Benham was in his truck over the main line tracks, trying to pull the car off the side tracks.

That's when authorities said Behham's truck was struck in the passenger side by a train.

Benham was taken to Clay County Memorial Hospital, then transferred to United Regional where he is currently in the ICU recovering from a several broken bones, including his back, which relatives say is broken in four places.
