Man to Spend 12 Years in Prison on Sex Assault Charges

Jack Briar Hawkins pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault Thursday in the 89th District Court.
A registered sex offender is sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to the sexual assault of a teenage girl he claims he intended to marry.
In March, 20-year-old Jack Briar Hawkins was booked into the Wichita County Jail on three charges of sexual assault.
An arrest affidavit states Hawkins was involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
Hawkins says he gave the teen an engagement ring and planned on marrying her once she turned 17.
