With only three days left before the Obamacare sign up deadline to get coverage by January 1st,  the administration has announced more changes.

Thursday night the administration said the "catastrophic plan" will now be available for people who are considered to have had a "hardship".

The Obama Administration defines a "hardship" as a person who had coverage and now is going to lose that coverage due to no fault of their own.

If you didn't have any coverage at all and you were uninsured, you do not qualify for the catastrophic plan.

Insurance Agent Kelly Fristoe says few people in Texas will have to worry about needing to buy into the catastrophic plan because few insurance companies are halting coverage in Texas, for now.

"Texas health insurance pool coverage was going to terminate December 31st, no ifs and or buts, but the commissioner of insurance in this state issued an emergency order to extend that coverage all the way through March 31st. Those people aren't in jeopardy really," says Fristoe.

The deadline to sign up to get coverage by January 1st is this Monday December 23rd.
