A 24 year old mother is sentenced to 30 days of weekend work release for leaving two young children alone in a house during a snow storm last winter.

Kera Cobb was arrested in February and charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child.

Police received a call from Cobb's landlord, who said he went to the home in the 4300 block of Boren to collect rent and saw two small children looking out a window. Police say the youngest was two years old. He says no one answered the door so he called police.

An officer says as he arrived, Cobb pulled into the driveway and took a one-year-old girl dressed only in a diaper out of the car. He said it was snowing and the temperature was in the mid-20s.

The officer says Cobb told him she had left a neighbor to watch her two nephews, but she did not know the neighbor's full name and the neighbor denied being asked to watch the children. And police say Cobb changed her story two times.

The judge ruled that Cobb will receive no credit for jail time already served before serving her 30 days on work-release.
