The Midwestern State University Geosciences Club will partner with Sims Recycling Solutions to collect electronic waste from the general public from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, December 1, at the Bolin Science Hall parking lot at MSU.
This event is to help reduce the amount of electronics being dumped and to promote e-waste recycling. Many electronic items have circuit boards and other components that contain materials that are reclaimable. Items that will be accepted include televisions, monitors, laptops, printers, speakers, keyboards, mice, PDAs, radios, stereos, MP3 players, DVD/CD players, VCRs, cell phones, CPUs, servers, and hard drives. Volunteers will be on hand to help unload items.
Items that will not be accepted include batteries, microwaves, household appliances, toner/ink carriages, cans, and bottles.
SIms Recycling Solutions guarantees that all hard drives will be destroyed in the recycling process.
