Multiple Agencies Investigating Possible Drowning at Fort Sill

WFPD's dive team and LPD's dive team are investigating a possible drowning at Fort Sill.

Wichita Falls Police Department dive teams are helping crews comb the Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area at Fort Sill for a possible drowning victim.
Saturday around 7:30 p.m. Fort Sill officials say post fire fighters were called to the lake after two soldiers were seen in a one person kayak that became unbalanced and flipped.
According to witnesses, one soldier appeared to panic while the other was trying to help him to shore but officials say only one solider made it out of the water.
The other was reportedly seen going under water and never resurfaced.
Fort Sill officials say the Lawton Police Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol are also assisting in the search.
If they aren't able to find the missing soldier Fort Sill officials say crews will stop tonight at sunset and resume the search tomorrow morning.
