Munday Community Holds Candlelight Vigil for Longtime Coach

Longtime Munday track and football coach Ronny Lowrance passed away Sunday morning at the age of 45. A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night at the Munday football field in his memory.
Hundreds showed up at Scruggs field Sunday night for a candlelight vigil. Past players, coaches and Knox County residents arrived to show support for the Lowrance family. Lowrance was the defensive coordinator of Munday's state championship football team, along with winning three state track championships as head coach of the Moguls. This was his 11th year coaching at Munday. Lowrance also graduated from Munday high school in 1986. On Friday night Lowrance watched his son play in his first varsity football game. Lowrance leaves behind his wife Jamie and his children Kandace (20), Mitchell (16) And Kasey (13). Mitchell is a junior on the Moguls' football team.
