Wichita Falls Airport officials are playing the waiting game to see how much grant money they'll receive for the construction of a new terminal.
Plans are in the works to replace the terminal, parking lot and apron at Municipal Airport.
The project is expected to carry a price tag of more than $30 million, but officials hope much of that money will come from a military airport grant as well as the FAA.
"It's actually federal money that comes from the aviation world in user fees... fuels, passenger charges, things like that. It's not actual tax dollars. So, the money is not going to be coming from the actual citizens here," says LeAnn Moran, director of Wichita Falls Municipal Airport.
Airport officials expect to learn sometime in June how much grant and FAA money they'll receive toward the new terminal.
Officials hope to break ground on phase one of the new airport in October.
