Nearly 60 Pounds of Marijuana Found During Traffic Stop

Two Georgetown men were arrested during the traffic stop.
Nearly 60 pounds of marijuana is off the streets and two men are behind bars after DPS troopers say they found the drugs during a traffic stop.

53 year old Michael Delao and 34 year old Albert Wright are charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

An arrest affidavit states a vehicle driven by Delao was speeding down Highway 287.

A DPS trooper pulled the vehicle over and Delao denied the trooper's request to search the vehicle.

Another trooper and his K9 reported to the scene and troopers say the K9 could smell drugs in the car.

Upon a search of the vehicle, authorities say they found three duffle bags filled with vacuum sealed packages of marijuana weighing 59 pounds and more than four grams of Hashish.

Both Delao and Wright are jailed on $40,000 bonds.
