New Businesses Coming to Wichita Falls; Cane's Announces Opening Date

City planning officials have been extra busy the past few months approving proposals for all the new businesses opening in Wichita Falls.
Driving down a main thoroughfare in Wichita Falls, you'll soon notice the skyline will be a bit more crowded.

Bobby Teague, assistant director of community development, says, "We do have a couple new businesses that are coming into Wichita Falls. We have a Braum's. I believe it's supposed to be a 'super' Braum's."

That's going up in a new shopping center off call field next to Mazzio's Italian Eatery, where the old Certainteed warehouse stood for many decades.

At last check, the restaurant-produce store combo hopes to be up and running by the end of the year.

And another business that has the same target opening date and is being built in the same area is Natural Grocer's.

"Which is actually under construction right around the corner on Lawrence," Teague says.

And you'll soon have an opportunity to drive through and pick up a bag full of your favorite Tex-Mex off the Maplewood extension.

"And then over behind Cavender's there is going to be a new Taco Casa," Teague says.

Restaurant owners hope to have those plans sent to the city to get the go-ahead for construction within a few weeks.

Plus, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is expected to open in the old Shell Oasis location at Kell and Lawrence Rd.

That opening is set for Thursday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m.

And, there's even another hotel under construction.

La Quinta Inn and Suites is under construction off Maplewood and owners hope to have that open by the beginning of May.
