The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank is serving up a new program to provide WIC mothers and children with more fresh produce.

The Farmers Market Nutrition Program started last week in Wichita Falls and recipients were loading up on fruits and vegetables at Downtown Farmers Market.

The program will provide mothers and each of their children, excluding infants, with a booklet containing five $6 vouchers for produce at local farmers markets.

Food bank officials say out of 600 vouchers, so far, 60 have been given out.

If you are in the government WIC program you can participate in the Farmers Market Nutrition Program by going to the food bank to sign up.

It is located on Midwestern Parkway and open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All vouchers must be used by September 30th.
