New Wichita Falls Crime Data Map

The Wichita Falls Police Department now has an online crime map
The Wichita Falls Police Department now has an online crime map that maps and analyzes crime data, alerts Wichita Falls citizens about  crimes in their area, and allows the Wichita Falls Police Department to quickly alert the public about crimes as they occur.

The Wichita Falls Police Department has partnered with Bair Analytics to provide raid online.

Residents can view a map with all of the crimes in their area, sign up for neighborhood watch reports that can email recent crime activity and even submit anonymous tips about crime to police.

Officer Harold McClure with the Wichita Falls Police Department says, "They can target their specific street and see what's they're able to do with that information is protect themselves. They can see what's taken place, and equip themselves with information so they're not victimized."

In fact, police have already utilized the new statistical information.

McClure says, "They were able to see certain patterns and certain areas being hit hard with burglaries and they were able to put more manpower in certain areas and make some arrests."

The new website is also available as an app for your mobile device.
