A wanted sex offender out of New York who'd taken up a new identity is now behind bars in Comanche County.

Peter Green was convicted in 2011 for sexual abuse 1st: sexual contact with an individual less than 11 years old.

He was wanted on a parole violation and was classified as a sexually violent offender and predicate sex offender.

After receiving information Green may have been living in Lawton, the police department found his residence and determined he'd assumed the identity of Damel Burton.

Then, with the assistance of the US Marshall's Office, Green was located at a residence in the 1300 block of Northwest Taylor.

Green was booked into the Lawton City Jail and will be transferred to the Comanche County Detention Center to await extradition to New York.

He now faces additional charges of failure to register as a sex offender and identity theft.
