But two more candidates have filed for the school board, so there will be an election. There will also be a school bond issue election on the May 10 ballot.

In the city races, incumbent Mayor Glenn Barham has filed.

In District 3 and District 4 incumbents Brian Hooker and Tim Ingle filed and in the District 5 seat being vacated by Mary Ward, Tom Quintero is running.

In the WFISD Board election, Allyson Flack and Elizabeth Yeager had filed for the 2 at large seats and two more candidates filed for those seats before the deadline.

Former school board member and most recently chairman of the community facilities action team Kerry Maroney and also W.O. Franklin.

Bob Payton is running for re-election for place 1.

For area city and school elections with contested races, the election is May 10. The deadline to register to vote is April 10 and early voting begins April 28.
