North Carolina Issues Immigrant Licenses

New licenses are for undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

(WCNC)  Some undocumented immigrants in North Carolina are getting driver's licenses for the first time.

The North Carolina DMV started issuing the licenses Monday to young people brought to the U.S. as children without legal authorization.

Those who are eligible for the license are participating in a program called the Federal Deferred for Childhood arrivals program.

Maria's parents brought her to the US from Ecuador when she was 8.
