Did your parents ever tell you, "No dessert until you eat your fruits and vegetables"?  Well, the kids at Notre Dame Catholic School are not only eating their fruits and veggies, they're singing about it, too!

They won first place in the popular vote for a USDA fruit and veggie video contest.  141 videos were submitted from all over the country, to promote the "Choose My Plate" concept, which has replaced the old food pyramid.

Rachel Parkey, Notre Dame Catholic School Junior, says, "They had done an awesome job on picking the dance they made up and making up the words to it, so it was really neat knowing we could help them share their project."

Notre Dame Catholic School Junior, Hunter Quintero, says, "It was just cool knowing that we helped out with something that won first place in a national contest."

The kids decided to use their 500 dollar prize to help two non-profits, and to purchase interactive, educational games for their school.
