Officer Back at Work After Injuries in Crash

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: small;" mce_style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: small;">A Sergeant with the Wichita Falls Police Department is back at work this week after getting hit by a suspected drunk driver last year.</span>

Sgt. Danny Wiggins, a 17-year-veteran of the department, is back on patrol after months of recovery and working light duty.

Back in September, Sgt. Wiggins was sitting in his patrol car following a DWI accident on Kell East near Taft Boulevard. Authorities say his emergency lights were flashing when his car was rear-ended by a pick-up truck. Sgt. Wiggins had to be cut free from the wreckage, and transported to United Regional.

Police say the driver was 23 year-old Kyle Evan Adams of Burkburnett. He's charged with intoxicated assault.
