Officer Indicted for Assault "Suspended Indefinitely"

Gerald Anthony Morgan, who's served as an officer with WFPD for more than ten years, was indicted on charges of assault family violence and injury to a child.
The veteran Wichita Falls police officer who was indicted on charges of assaulting members of his family late last year is no longer on the department's pay roll.
Department records show officer Gerald Anthony Morgan is indefinitely suspended without pay.
He has appealed that suspension, but a hearing about Morgan's future with the department has not yet been scheduled.
The Wichita County Grand Jury indicted Morgan on charges of assault family violence for choking and injury to a child, which are both third degree felonies.
Those stem from a December incident during which authorities say Morgan pushed his wife on top on their 10-year-old daughter, grabbed his son's throat and pushed him against a door, then threw his wife against a wall.
