Official: Could be Weeks Before Cause for Emergency Landing Determined

A Beechcraft Bonanza was forced to make an emergency landing at Kickapoo Airport Tuesday morning.
Federal Aviation Administration investigators say it could be several weeks before an official cause of a plane's emergency landing at Kickapoo Airport is determined.

Authorities say on Tuesday the pilot was trying to land the Beechcraft Bonanza at Kickapoo Airport when it lost power Tuesday morning.

The pilot saw an opportunity to make a safe landing in the field and took it.

FAA officials are taking a look at the plane, which was moved back to its hangar.

They say these investigations typically take several weeks, especially if any mechanical parts have to be sent to labs for testing.
