A two car crash near Paris, Texas results in the death of three people including a 30 year old Wichita Falls Woman and her 5-year-old passenger.

Trooper Mark Tacket with the Highway Patrol told us the crash happened on US 271 at about 1 pm Tuesday. Tacket says a 1999 Honda Civic, driven by 30-year-old Melody Sowards of Wichita Falls was heading east bound when it began to slide sideways.

The Civic then crossed the double yellow line and slammed into a 1998 Ford Taurus driven by 56-year-old Fred Woodard of Deport. According to Tacket, Woodard's vehicle crashed into the side of Sowards',killing her and a 5 year old passenger, identified by the Paris newspaper as her child. Woodard was also killed.

Tacket says all three passengers were wearing safety belts. No word yet on what caused Soward's vehicle to slide sideways. The crash remains under investigation.
