Congressman Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's republican presidential running mate in 2012, says he does not like at all the direction our country is heading.

Ryan signed copies of his new book 'The Way Forward' at Hastings in Wichita Falls Monday evening and he talked of the 2012 White House policy known as 'Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals'.

Many conservatives believe that allows some illegal immigrants who come to the US as children to defer deportation and believe it's helped cause the border crisis. Ryan's among those who've voted to defund and end the program.

"We passed comprehensive reforms to deal with this humanitarian crisis at the border. Change the trafficking law so that people don't have an incentive to continue sending their kids up through human trafficking. Number two, give states the resources, put the guard on the border. Number 3, prevent DACA from getting any worse so that we can prevent this from becoming a continuing incentive. The House has acted. The House has addressed this. The Senate hasn't done anything and we're waiting for the Senate to act," Ryan explained.

Ryan was with Romney last week, and says he wishes Romney would run again, saying he believes he'd be a great president. As far as Ryan running himself, he says he and his wife will make a decision on that sometime in 2015.
