The Petrolia Lady Pirates softball team got a big time send off Tuesday morning as they are state bound to Austin.

The school spirit is something the team appreciated as they look to bring home a state title on the softball diamonds.

It is a goal that many high school teams have...That's to win a state championship.

Petrolia is two wins away from winning a class 1A state title.

The team is ready for the challenge of winning it all.

The last strike out last Saturday against Windthorst earned Perolia one of their goals that had at the start of the season.

That's making it to state for the second time in three seasons.

Abby Anderson, Petrolia High School Senior Pitcher-----"I feel really blessed we are blessed with a great community and coaches and administration and community I am glad to be here and I am glad we are going to state."

DeDe Gray, Petrolia High School Head Softball Coach---"It has been an incredible run for us. The kids have worked hard and have continued to work hard. It was our goal at the beginning of the season that we were going to do our best to get back!"

If you spend anytime with the Lady Pirates, you see some young ladies that care for one another and love one another.

One big incentive is they want to win state for their head coach DeDe Gray who is retiring at the end of the season.

Anderson-----"She means the world to me. It has been a blessing and a joy to play for her."

Gray----"These kids are amazing. They work hard. I am going to miss them a bunch. You are going to make me cry. I really do love them. I treat them like their mom or grandmother. I get on them like they are my mom or grandmom. They have been great for me. They have been uplifting for me. I had some low places. I lost a grandchild a couple of years ago. They were there to lift me up."

Here is your state semifinals in class 1A.

Wednesday at noon it will be the Lady Pirates of Petrolia and Weimar.

Hubbard will play Harleton in the first game Wednesday morning at 9.
