Federal prosecutors say a Colorado parolee who shot a Montague County deputy last March, forced a pizza delivery man to read a statement right before he was killed.

28- year- old Evan Ebel shot Montague County Deputy, James Boyd three times after Boyd stopped his car outside Bowie.

Ebel's suspected of killing Colorado's prison chief, and the delivery man, a few days before that.

The Denver Post reports prosecutors believe the statement Ebel forced the delivery man to read on March 17th seemed to criticize prison officials for putting inmates into solitary confinement.

The transcript reads, in part, "you treated us inhumanely, and so we simply seek to do the same".

The delivery man was then shot to death, according to The Denver Post.

Ebel wrecked his car in Wise County during a high speed chase on 287 after Deputy Boyd was shot, and Ebel was then shot in the forehead and killed during a gunfight with authorities.

That's where the recorder was found.

Deputy Boyd survived his injuries, and is now back again serving the people of Montague County.
