Police Say Homeowner with Gun Stops Attempted Burglary

John Olson II is charged with burglary of a habitation.

Wichita Falls police say a homeowner with a gun was able to stop a burglar from forcing entry into his home.

John Olson II, who's from Burkburnett, is charged with burglary of a habitation in the incident.

According to an arrest affidavit, a homeowner on Anita Ln. said he heard someone trying to his back door, so he got his handgun.

The homeowner says he found Olson taking off his storm door trying to break in.

He says he confronted Olson who clenched his fists and came toward him.

The homeowner says he pointed his gun at Olson, who stopped charging him, and held Olson at gunpoint until officers arrived on scene.

He's jailed on a $50-thousand bond.
