The Food and Drug Administration is investigating possible links between 5-Hour Energy Shots and more than a dozen deaths.

Officials say over the past four years, 33 hospitalizations and 13 deaths have been reported. So far, there is no evidence the 5-Hour Energy products caused any of the deaths or injuries, but an investigation is ongoing.

5-Hour Energy Shots contain the rough equivalent of one to two cups of coffee and does not contain herbal stimulants. The company responded to the claims suggesting that 5-Hour Energy only be used by "hardworking adults who need an extra boost of energy."
