Rains Do Nothing to Break Grip of "Exceptional Drought"

Did the rainfall across Texoma do anything to help relieve the drought?
The latest information on the drought was released Thursday, April 4th.

Even with rainfall across Texoma earlier this week it seems that water did nothing to bring any relief from the grip of the drought.  The information this week is the same as last week.

Here is the most recent data...

"Exceptional" Stage 5:
Wichita
Archer
Young
Throckmorton
Baylor
Wilbarger
Jackson
Tillman
Cotton
Comanche
Stephens
Jefferson
Knox
Clay

"Extreme" Stage 4:
Montague
Jack
Foard
King
Palo Pinto

"Severe" Stage 3
Childress
Cottle
Hardeman

With this data it means that 64% of Texoma is in the highest level of drought at Stage 5 or "Exceptional" drought.

Please remember drought level numbers DO NOT represent any city or communities drought emergency numeral system.

(See chart below for a graphical version of the above list).
