Ray Gets Life in Prison for the Beating Death of His Stepson

Last month, a Comanche County jury found Lancey Ray guilty of the first-degree murder of a 10-year-old boy.
A Lawton man convicted earlier this month of beating his son to death is sentenced this morning by a Comanche County judge to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
The jury that found him guilty had recommend life without possibility of parole.
Thirty-nine year-old Lancey Ray was found guilty of first degree murder for the Dec. 2010 death of 10-year-old Malik Ray.
Authorities say Ray admitted to using a belt to discipline the boy, but that both Ray and his wife Denise admitted to beating the child.
Ray and his wife took Malik to the hospital when he became unconscious during that beating.
    He died the next day.
Denise Ray is charged with enabling child abuse.
Police say she told them both she and Lancey beat the boy over an argument about food.
    Her trial is pending.
