Registration Underway for Drought Outlook & Assessment Forum

Registration is underway for Tuesday's Drought Outlook & Assessment Forum in Wichita Falls.
As the drought continues, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration , or NOAA is hosting a drought forum in Wichita Falls to help give a better understanding of why and when the drought started, as well as how it changed over time.

Officials say drought conditions in Texoma are something no one could have expected or predicted.

"We haven't really seen conditions this bad. California has also been in a very difficult drought.  Texas has been in it much longer, like I said, since late 2010.  I think what we can bring to the table this year is really our best understanding of when conditions may break," says Chad McNutt, Ph.D., with NOAA in Boulder, CO.

The drought outlook and assessment forum is Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall.

The cost is free but you must register by 5 p.m. Monday if you would like to attend.
