Starting Tuesday the coin system is no longer available at the Reilly Road Fill Station to help stop abuse of the water facility.

The fill station was installed for annexed city residents, but city leaders say people in other cities and counties have been using the water.

Annexed city residents must now fill out an application to set up an account to use the fill station.

Starting Wednesday the fill station will be manned on Wednesday from 4:30p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. To 11 a.m. until the new card system is put in.

“We will physically have someone out there to physically check the ID make sure they say who they say they are,” says Wichita Falls Director of Public Works Russell Schreiber.

Account holders can buy up to 75- hundred gallons of potable water a month

The city plans to work closely with residents that may have special circumstances causing them to need extra water.

To apply, just call county judge, Woody Gossom's office at 766-8101.
