Run Remembers Texoma Woman Killed While Jogging

Lois Luig was killed in January while jogging in Scotland.
Family and friends are working together to remember a Scotland woman who died earlier this year in a tragic accident while jogging.

In January, investigators say 54-year-old Lois Luig of Scotland was killed after being hit by a truck.

It happened on FM 172 about three miles south of Scotland.

Luig and a friend were taking their morning jog, as they always did, around 6 o'clock in the morning when Luig was struck from behind.

She's remembered as a very active person and enjoyed running and cycling.

Nine months after her death, her loved ones have organized a 5K and 1K run in her honor

Kalli Moss, Luig's daughter, says, "Just in memory of her. It was something she loved to do. She always tried to get us to run and to start something new."

The "Run with Lois 5K" is Saturday, Nov. 2 at Windthorst Elementary School.

All the proceeds from the race benefit Relay for Life, a cause Luig was passionate about.
