Scotland VFD Hosts Benefit for Fire Chief Battling Cancer

The Scotland Volunteer Fire Department hosted a benefit today at Texas Nite Life to raise money for Chief Campbell who is battling cancer.
Friends and co-workers gathered today at Texas Nite Life to raise money for a loved one who is battling cancer.

Scotland volunteer Fire Chief Lee Roy Campbell has been with the Scotland VFD for twenty-five years and has been chief for seventeen of those years.

Admission was free today but fire boots where people could make donations were placed throughout texas nite life.

There was live music, dancing and a bake sale and auction to raise funds as well.

"The money goes into a separate account and then all that money goes back to him to pay his medical bills," Ken Nichols with the Scotland VFD said.

Nichols said the event would go on for as long as it takes to raise as much money as they can for Chief Campbell.
