Second Arrest Made in Olney High-Speed Chase

Authorities believe Jesse Dale Gardner Jr. led an Olney police officer on a high-speed chase early Friday morning.
Young County authorities arrest a man they suspect led an Olney police officer on a high-speed chase before crashing his car and fleeing from officers.
Jesse Dale Gardner Jr. is charged with resisting arrest.
Officers say they found him in a home off Highway 79 in Olney.
Police say an officer saw a vehicle driving down Old Olney Rd. going about 90 miles an hour at about one in the morning yesterday.
Police say the man also ran several stop signs and red lights, and led the officer on a brief pursuit before wrecking his car on Davids Rd. and running into a nearby wooded area.
Nineteen-year-old Paige Counts was a passenger in the vehicle.
She was arrested after the incident, and officers say did not provide any information on the driver.
Counts is charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and deadly conduct for throwing items out of the car and at the officer during the pursuit.
