Seymour Draws in Visitors with Social Media

The town of Seymour is drawing in visitors with a new project called Foodie Fridays.
On Friday the town of Seymour took to social media in an effort to draw in visitors.

Its a new project that happens every Friday after the 15th of the month.

Its called Foodie Friday.

When residents and visitors eat at any of the restaurants in Seymour, they are encouraged to take a picture and post it on the social media site of their choice.

And using the hashtag #FoodieFriday they post the picture.

Visitors say this is a smart new way to bring the community together while drawing in visitors.

"You don't see a lot of this in small communities. They have a tendency to kind of stick with, its worked for so long, I'm not going to step out of my box. Its good to see," Tiny Lozoya, from El Paso, says.

Seymour's Economic Development Coordinator says a lot of people tend to stop through Seymour on their way to Lubbock or Abilene.

The city hopes that this will help boost local business and continue to bring people in for a visit.
