A Seymour man is arrested after taking a taser away from a Wichita Falls police officer.

Police say 51-year-old Kenneth Wallace was pulled over around 2:30 Sunday morning because his registration was expired.

Sgt. John Spragins says the officer noticed Wallace trying to hide something and asked him to step out of the vehicle.

That's when police say Wallace started fighting with two officers and one of the officer deployed a taser into his back.

Spragins says Wallace tried to roll on the ground to break the wires and an officer stunned him again.

Police say he grabbed the taser from the officer, threw it at him, and started running away. Spragins says Wallace was stunned a third time and taken into custody.
Police also found Hydrocodone and oxycotin pills inside the vehicle.

Wallace faces charges of taking a weapon from a police officer, assault on a public servant, possession of a controlled substance, and evading arrest. His bonds total $94,000.
