A few changes have been made in how you receive news, weather and sports alerts from Texomashomepage.com.

Recently, Texomashomepage.com underwent a bit of a change concerning our mobile app. If you haven't already, be sure and download that on your mobile device.

Also, text alerts you may have had over the past several years have changed as well. But it's easy to sign up for alerts you want.

The first thing you'll need to do is go to the text alert sign up page here: http://texomashomepage.com/textalerts

It takes you to the options you'll have such as weather alerts, breaking news, school closings and more.

Say you want weather alerts. Once you click the link, there are three options. You can sign in with a Google or Yahoo email or just create an account.

Then sign in and choose your alerts. Your choices here include, tornado, severe thunderstorm, fire and many more. You can choose to have watches and warnings, or only warnings sent to you.
Next, just enter the zip code of the area for the alert coverage. You can select up to 5 zip codes.

You can choose to have you alerts sent to the email you registered with or to another email.

Then, pick the cell phone number for the text alerts. Click save and look for the confirmation at the top.

Also look for the confirmation text message where you'll reply with a "Y". If you miss that step, no text message alerts.

If you want other alerts, just head back to the main alert page and enter your mobile number. Look through your selections and choose the ones you want like breaking news alerts, high school sports, college and pro sports alerts, or maybe you play the lottery.

Once you're, done simply click sign up.

Remember, once you hit submit, look for the text message where you'll need to respond to confirm. Now you're ready for your news, weather and sports to come to you.
