The trial of a 36-year-old Wichita Falls man accused of the aggravated sexual assault of a six-year-old boy continues tomorrow morning.
The prosecution rests its case in the trial of a 36-year-old Wichita Falls man accused of the aggravated sexual assault of a child.
David Alan Perrigo, Jr. Is charged with sexual assault and indecency with a 6-year-old boy.
This morning he entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.
The state rested its arguments just after four this afternoon.
The defense will have the opportunity to present their argument when the trial resumes tomorrow morning.
The state called a former daycare worker as their first witness this morning.
She said she overheard the boy talking to his friends about the alleged incidents, and that's when she notified authorities.
Later this afternoon, prosecutors called the now 8-year-old boy to the stand.
He said Perrigo made him touch him behind closed doors.
He said only one such incident occurred.
The prosecution showed a taped interview Perrigo had with investigators, during which he admitted to telling the boy to touch him.
Perrigo says he doesn't known why he told the child to do what he did.
The trial will resume tomorrow morning at 9 in the 30th District Court.
