Summer Rascoll joined the KFDX news team in May of 2013. Summer describes herself as a southern girl through and through. She was born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana, where she was mesmerized by her local news team. Her family moved to Branson Missouri after Hurricane Katrina. She credits this move as a blessing in disguise because it guided her to study at Missouri State University.

Summer graduated from Missouri State University in May of 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. While in college Summer started her career as multimedia journalist and anchor for Ozarks News Journal, a thirty minute public affairs show that runs across the state of Missouri on PBS. She interned for WRGB CBS 6 in Albany New York in the summer of 2010. She then interned at KOLR 10/KOZL in Springfield Missouri in spring of 2012. She was also very involved in campus activities. She was president of her sorority Xi Omicron Iota, was a University Ambassador tour guide and volunteered for the alumni association.

After graduating she accepted a job as a producer at KOLR 10/KOZL, where she helped recreate their hour long nine pm. newscast. While producing she became immersed in many aspects of the news business but never lost sight of her dream to be a reporter.

Summer is thrilled to be reporting in Wichita Falls Texas and tries to learn as much as possible about the culture in Texoma. Her background in politics has geared her towards city reporting. You can catch her at the Wichita Falls City Council meetings every two weeks.
