Team Of The Week, November 7th, 2013: Midwestern State Women's Soccer

Midwestern State Women's Soccer is the team of the week.
The Midwestern State women's soccer team are on a roll heading into Friday's Lone Star Conference tournament.
MSU has won 5 straight and 6 of their last 7 matches.
The streak helped the mustangs claim a share of the regular season conference title.
For their strong performance over the past few games, KFDX Sports honors Midwestern State Women's Soccer with the latest team of the week award.
On a cold, wet and dreary night on the MSU Soccer Field nearly three weeks ago, the MSU Women's soccer team lost a tough match to Texas A&M-Commerce.
That match blurred the teams chances of winning the regular season LSC title, momentarily.
But after winning 4 consecutive conference matches and 5 overall, the goal came back into focus and they won the LSC regular season title.
"I felt like we had to put together three or four straight wins to give us a chance. And we were able to do that so the girls were very excited about that we went through a big weekend last weekend and we got two big wins and so it enabled us to win the Lone Star Conference title," said MSU Women's Head Soccer Coach Jeff Trimble.
MSU's leading goal scorer Ashely Cotrell feels that the team getting hot at the end of the season has boosted the confidence of msu heading into the Lone Star Conference tournament.
"Our whole team is really confident. All the wins we have been getting has made us confident. We feel that all of these wins will really help us in the tournament and make us be able to push through and motivate us to the NCAA's if we get there," said Cottrell.
Midfielder Morgan Hannon says their style of play has also been a plus.
"Our game is better when every we play the ball on the ground and alot of possessions. So if we calm down the first 15 minutes of the 1st half and play the feet I think we will be ok,"said Hannon.
Trimble says this team is on the list of one of the good teams he has coached at MSU.
"We have very good players. We don't have players that are off the charts dynamic. We very good players that are consistent. We are a consistently quality team. Everyone that plays or starts they are doing a great job as well as the ones coming off the bench contributing. It is just a very good team, I think that helps us play very good soccer and they are very low key it is very odd they are so low key because things don't rattle them.
Our team of the week wants to do exactly what they did last week in San Angelo.
That's win and become conference champs again.
