There's a benefit set for this Saturday for a Burkburnett man well- known in the world of rodeo.

84- year old Ted Smalley is undergoing chemo while battling cancer, and this weekend's roping benefit will help with medical costs that are quickly mounting.

Smalley was a PRCA team roper, and he even won contests in Oklahoma City in the early 2000's, when he was in his 70's.

This Saturday the 12th, Danny Anderson's donating his arena for the day in Dean, by the water tower off Tammen Road.

Team ropers are needed to compete too.

Cost is 50- dollars for a team of two, and all you have to do to enter, or for more information, is call "Okie" at 580-399-2220.

Sign- up is set for 9 am.

Roping events will start at 10 am, and could go all day.
