Texas Stores Prepare for Tax Free Weekend

This weekend was tax free weekend in Oklahoma, and stores in Texas are now preparing for next weekend's tax free weekend in Texas.
Hundreds packed the stores for tax free weekend in Oklahoma, and if you haven't had a chance to shop till you drop don't worry because next weekend it's tax free weekend in Texas.

Tax free weekend gives shoppers an opportunity to buy all of your back to school essentials, without any sales tax.

That includes clothing, shoes and school supplies.

Target store managers in Lawton told us shoppers started packing the stores from open to close during tax free weekend in Oklahoma.

Next weekend it'll be the stores in Texas that are packed with shoppers.

Store managers in Wichita Falls say every year shoppers keep them busy on this shopping holiday.

Although it's a week away, stores are already preparing for the crowds.

"We expect to be packed, got extra staffing on hand, got extra team members here stocking that weekend," Target manager Josey Wood says. 

Wood says tax free weekend is one of their busiest times of the year.

He says the popular items are usually backpacks along with notebooks and binders.

So if you decide to brave the crowds for your back to school shopping next weekend, stores in Texas will be ready.
