A firestorm in Colorado is forcing 7,000 people out of their homes and out of danger as the massive wildfire near Colorado Springs gains strength and momentum.
A mission team from Texoma is in that line of fire.
Rod Payne and several others from First Baptist Church are near Garden of the Gods.
They went to the area to take part in another church's mission trip, but have now shifted gears setting up a day camp for families forced out by the flames.
They have also been getting food and water to fire crews battling the massive Waldo Canyon fire.
When we spoke with minister Rod Payne earlier, he talked about the enormity of this wild fire.
The blaze has already destroyed nearly 520 acres and right now is only five percent contained.
The Waldo Canyon fire is also threatening the Air Force Academy.
Firefighters say it's less than five miles from the southwest corner of the camp.
