The Kitchen is cooking up a holiday surprise for its clients but it does not involve a hot meal.

It involves a lot of holiday gifts.

Nearly nearly 1,000 of them to be exact.

Volunteers have spent the past few days filling bags with snacks for each of The Kitchen's senior and Meals On Wheels clients.

And those gifts will be delivered next week by members of the M.S.U. men's basketball team.

"It's great for our guys but we know it's great for our seniors out here and it's not everyday you get to play Santa Claus for a day and our guys will be able to do so," says Nelson Haggerty, head men's basketball coach at Midwestern State University.

In addition to the holiday care package each client will also receive a special holiday gift in their bag.
