Organizers of a Wichita Falls race -- called "T.H.O.R." -- or "Texoma's Hellacious Obstacle Run" -- say they're overwhelmed by the positive community response to the upcoming event.
Clayton Hein, who is the THOR chairman, says his Leadership Wichita Falls Class set a goal of 300 participants, to raise money for Faith Refuge and Texoma volunteer fire departments.
But he says about 700 people have already registered.
And that means the group needs volunteers to help.
Hein says it will be an exciting event for volunteers and participants.
"A hellacious obstacle run is an obstacle run spread over a 5K. It's just - it's a three & a quarter mile run, with a few dips & dives & slides & twists & turns. But it'll be a fun day."
If you'd like to volunteer to help point people in the right direction ... the run is next Saturday, and the group is looking for about 130 volunteers.
Volunteers get a free t-shirt and meal.
