Almost 10 thousand people enjoyed some roping and bull riding this weekend at the Wichita County Mounted patrol rodeo.
This is the first time the championship has been brought back in many years.
Organizers said they had 90 days to put the rodeo together and completely rebuilt the stands for the event.
The rodeo is a fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network and organizers say they picked it because the money stays local.
“We were trying to find the best place that we know where the money goes and what really makes our interests and that seemed to be the best fit for us because so many people, rodeos attract a lot of children and we just think that's a great combination,” says Wichita County Mounted Patrol Board of Directors member Rod Womble.
