Putting more fresh food on the tables of hungry Texomans is the goal of next week's empty bowls event at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU.
Putting more fresh food on the tables of hungry Texomans is the goal of next week's empty bowls event at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU.

This is the second year for the event and more than 20 restaurants and vendors are providing the soup, bread and other food.

More than 500 bowls were made by 40 artists during a one day bowl-a-thon last month. Diners who make a donation will be allowed to pick one of the pottery bowls to keep. In addition, special bowls created by ceramic artists around the country will available for purchase.

Those bowls are now on exhibit at the museum. The empty bowls lunch is next Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 pm.

Tickets are $35 and are available only in advance. You can get them at Market Street, United on Jacksboro Highway, the museum or the food bank.

You can also get tickets online which you can find at emptybowlswf.org.
