Tiffany Humpert is a Mom on a Mission

<br>Tiffany Humpert is on a mission to bring Autism support and programs to Texoma.

IT TAKES A SPECIAL PERSON TO RAISE A CHILD WITH AUTISM.
TIFFANY HUMPERT SAYS FOR THESE PARENTS AND KIDS, EARLY INTERVENTION IS KEY... AND THAT IS WHY SHE IS ON A MISSION TO BRING TEXOMA MOMS AND DADS TOGETHER AND CONNECT THEM WITH THE SUPPORT THEY NEED.
FOR DOING JUST THAT WE HONOR TIFFANY AS THIS MONTH'S SPIRIT OF TEXOMA AWARD WINNER.

ONE IN EVERY 88 CHILDREN YOU KNOW ARE LIVING WITH AUTISM.

Tiffany Humpert- "The incidence is high and when those families get the diagnosis they need somewhere to turn."

TIFFANY HUMPERT KNOWS THAT FIRST HAND... HER SON MASON HAS ASPERGERS.

Humpert- "He actually couldn't talk until he was four and several of my friends were moving out of the area to get resources for their kids and my thought was I want to keep it here, I want to keep it local.  I want my child to get services here, I don't want to have to move.  I love being a part of Texoma.  I was born here and I was raised here and I want my child to have the same upbringing."

SO AS PRESIDENT OF FAMILIES FOR AUTISM SUPPORT, OR FAST, TIFFANY WAS DETERMINED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN HERE.
NOW FROM ICE CREAM SOCIALS, TO OUTINGS AT THE PARK,  EVEN SPECIAL MOVIES, THERE ARE LOTS OF THINGS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TO ENJOY.

Humpert: "It is always neat to see a new parent come to an event, because they get excited because they have us veteran parents that have been down that road and we have raised our kids in Texoma and we have resources and we can say just go on over to this therapist or try this and it is very refreshing for them.

TIFFANY EVEN ORGANIZES SOMETHING SPECIAL JUST FOR THE LADIES...   MOMS NIGHT OUT!

Humpert:  "I have an amazing support system with the group...07:07:42:05 I have made tons of friends through the group and because we all understand each other, because we all have kids with disabilities."

WITH THE HELP OF A DEDICATED COMMITTEE TIFFANY ALSO  ORGANIZES THE AUTISM CONFERENCE.
THERE SHE GETS A LOT OF SUPPORT FROM HER SIDEKICK SON...  HE SHARES HIS EXPERIENCES, ALONG WITH OTHER KIDS WHO ARE AUTSTIC.

Humpert: "It is very important that he learn to give back to others, not just people who have Autism, but people in our community.  It is very important to me."

MASON WAS BY HIS MOMS SIDE FOR THE AUTISM AWARENESS WALK AND JOINED THE SPA BELLA TEAM FOR THE MDA MUSCLE WALK.
IN ADDITION TO TIME MASON HAS ALSO DONATED HIS OWN MONEY TO THE CAUSE.

Humpert- "This kind of makes me tear up. He said are y'all going to ask us if you want my money for Autism Speaks and they said oh yeah did you want to donate and he said yes.  So he donated and got the little tote bag that has the logo on it and that was a big deal to him."

A BIG DEAL TO TIFFANY AS WELL. HER DRIVE TO RAISE AUTISM AWARENESS AND PROVIDE RESOURCES AND SUPPORT HAVE GREATLY HELPED ENTIRE FAMILIES AFFECTED BY AUTISM.

Humpert: "It was very important to me  to create a community here to serve people with disabilities."

PEOPLE JUST LIKE MASON, WHO MAY HAVE BEEN SILENT AT THE AGE OF FOUR, BUT THIS NOW 13-YEAR-OLD ENJOYS HITTING THE STAGE IN PRODUCTIONS AT THE WICHITA THEATER, AS WELL AS TAKING ON ROLES AT THE BACKDOOR THEATER.

Humpert : "My child is going to grow up someday and he is going to be an adult with Autism in Texoma and I just want resources to be out there so we can get our kids where they need to be."
