Today Show Hosts Share Advice To Future Journalists

Here's more of our special interview with the Today Show hosts who share some advice.
Covering Olympic games is nothing new for the Today Show family.

Willie Geist and Jenna Bush were both at the London and Vancouver games. Meredith Vieira has actually covered even more Olympic Games and we asked if they make her nervous.

"I've actually done four, everything is really fun I think [the] most nerve racking thing for me is opening ceremonies, it's the second time I've done that with Matt [Lauer] and you get here a week before and just long enough to really be nervous and to start to think about the size of the audience that's going to watch. I'm so relieved it's over."

And for future young journalist who one day hope to cover events like the Olympics, Matt and Savannah have some advice.

Savannah says, "I think the first advice I always give is if your interested in being journalist read the paper everyday you have to kind of keep up on the news because you have to love it you have to want to think about the news, read about the news all the time and I think that's key and your writing, writing is the most important skill that a journalist has."

Matt adds, "Yeah be curious it's important to have that asking of one of your traits you gotta want to know more about the world around you and have the energy to go out and find something."
