Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Arrest

Two California men were stopped in Wichita Falls on their way to Arlington, TX and found with over $74,000 worth of marijuana.
A morning traffic stop lands two California men behind bars after DPS troopers say they found more than $70,000 worth of marijuana in their vehicle.

DPS trooper Tony Fulton says troopers conducted a traffic stop on a honda civic that was going southbound on U.S. 287 just west of Iowa park around 9 this morning.

Troopers say there were signs of criminal activity and when asked, the driver denied troopers consent to search the car.

The DPS K9 unit arrived on scene, and Fulton says the K9 officer alerted to the presence of drugs.

Troopers say they found two duffle bags full of marijuana, totaling about 17 pounds and a few grams of hash.

The two arrested are 21 year-old Ruben Guzman and 21 year-old Yousef Diab, both of Stockton, California.

They're each charged with possession of marijuana over five pounds and possession of a controlled substance.

Fulton says the two said they were transporting the drugs to Arlington.

Bond has not yet been set.
