Turkey Trot Has W.F. Neighbors Trotting on Thanksgiving

A Wichita Falls neighborhood started its thanksgiving this morning by trotting through the streets of their community.

A Wichita Falls neighborhood started its thanksgiving this morning by trotting through the streets of their community.
Members of the West Floral Heights Neighborhood Association took part in the community's annual Turkey Trot.
More than 100 people, either ran or walked the 5K route through the neighborhood.
Coordinators say the Turkey Trot is a time for neighborhoods to come together and fellowship while getting fit but also have a lot of fun in the process.

"We have people who dress up.  We have a lead turkey.  We give out a prize for the largest turkey clan, the youngest turkey and the oldest turkey.  So everybody gets in the spirit of it and really enjoys it," says Susan Koch, who helped coordinate the Turkey Trot.

Before Turkey Trot participants started pounding the pavement this morning many dropped off canned goods that will be donated to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.
